The footage, released by West Midlands Police, showed the moment officers tried to stop a grey Mazda 6 near junction 14 of the M6 as part of a drugs operation on July 7.
But driver Paul Duckworth, 31, sped away while his passenger Mohamed Kabbar, 25, threw packs of drugs from the window and onto the hard shoulder of the M6 at Chasewater, near Cannock, Birmingham, reports the Birmingham Mail.
A police helicopter joined the chase and officers tried to shop the Mazda, even pulling in front of it and displaying an illuminated message saying: Follow me.
After a half-hour pursuit officers boxed in the car and forced it off the carriageway.
Police later found two large packs of heroin on the hard shoulder with a potential street value of around 230,000.
Kabbar, of Church Street, Lozells, Birmingham, was jailed for five years for possession with intent to supply heroin at Stafford Crown Court.
Duckworth, of Folkestone Croft, Bromford, Birmingham, received a 15-month sentence for heroin possession, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified and without insurance.
The court heard Duckworth was a heroin addict who was used to transport drugs to pay off debts.
Investigating officer Pc Nick McCullogh, of Handsworth Police, said: Kabbar and Duckworth were on their way back from Rochdale, where they had collected the drugs, when they were intercepted by motorway police officers.
They were carrying heroin destined for communities in Birmingham, which would have had a devastating impact on users, and their family and friends.
We are satisfied with the sentences handed to Kabbar and Duckworth, and hope they deter others from drug dealing or, in the case of Duckworth, from being used as a mule to transport drugs across the country.
